My name is Jakob de Jonge. I was born in 1982 and live and work in The Hague, The Netherlands. I graduated from the Royal Academy of Art in The Hague in the summer of 2012. I currently work on bright acrylic paintings. The paintings  transport the onlook into a disorienting view of another world, made up of more or less familiar phenomena.

I like to discover and share with the viewer the beauty and sheer magic of the reality in which we live. Mixed in this landscape of our reality is the unrelenting suffering of man and nature. It is that paradox that I aim to bring forth to onlookers expressing the tension between hope and fear, ideal and reality, belief and cynicism, honesty and hypocrisy.
